According to a study published by eClinicalMedicine, a higher intake in ultra-processed foods is associated with a higher chance of developing site-specific or overall cancers.
Kiara Chang (MSc), a faculty member of medicine at Imperial College London School of Medicine, says that the number of cancer cases is expected to rise to 28.4million by 2040.
“However, at least 50% of cancer cases could be potentially preventable and an unhealthy diet is a key modifiable risk factor,” they wrote.
