The Turkish court reversed a decision of the national antitrust regulator two years ago that fined Roche and Novartis over $30 million for conspiring misinformation about eye treatment. This was a rare victory for these companies after other legal setbacks.
An Ankara administrative court ruled in favor of both drugmakers. It found that the Turkish Competition Board did not prove that Novartis nor Roche had illegally promoted the eye medication. The antitrust watchdog was directed to pay both companies the fines.
