This is my tenth year as a yoga instructor. Whether or not you believe in the 10-year, 10,000-hour theory popularised by journalist Malcolm Gladwell – that practice time correlates with mastery – reaching double digits of years of lesson design causes me to reflect on which of the gifts and guidelines my teachers gave me have endured.
I hope that you recognize the qualities your teachers have given you by sharing my gleanings. These qualities might become part of your yoga practice and/or worldview. If so, you may want to keep them in your journal. You might also find a card or stamp to thank your teacher.
